Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Trend: Opulence

This fall and winter the more expensive looking and over-the-top the garment the better!  According to www.dictionary.com, the word "opulent" means wealthy, rich, and affluent.   So put aside your hipster grungy clothes (yay!) and look for apparel with beading, embroidery, lace, furs, metallic, sequins, brocade fabrics, baroque-inspired prints, intricate patterns, and anything else that you can think of that may make a garment look opulent or expensive.  This trend was featured in many collections on the FW2012 runways (Above: Balmain; Dolce & Gabbana; Lanvin; Marchesa) and is slowly making its ways into retail stores.  If you want to give this trend a try, below are some options to consider:  7 for all Mankind "The Skinny Jeans" for $215 on www.piperlime.com; Ark & Co. sequin zig zag dress for $89 on www.piperlime.com; Aryn K. metallic ladylike jacket for $99 on www.piperlime.com; Baroque crop top for $38 on www.nastygal.com; BDG baroque-side high-rise legging for $29 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Citizens of Humanity "Avedo Rococo" pant for $248 on www.piperlime.com; Nanette Lepore "Society" sequin dress for $398 on www.bloomingdales.com; BDG brocade-chain high-rise legging for $29 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Oscar de la Renta baroque jeweled brooch necklace for $655 on www.nordstrom.com; Sequined jacquard dress for $228 on www.anthropologie.com; Osona collar necklace for $118 on www.anthropologie.com; Tinley Road printed blouse for $69 on www.piperlime.com; Topshop jacquard skater dress for $240 on www.nordstrom.com; Tracy Reese brocade sheath dress for $345 on www.nordstrom.com.
