Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Trend: Midi Skirts

Maxi and mini skirts are sooooooo last season!  If you want to be on-trend this season go out and grab a midi skirt (Above: Chloe; Christian Dior; Haider Ackermann; Louis Vuitton).  If you've never heard of the midi skirt, it is skirt that hits just below the knee or a little longer at mid-calf.  They can be full (Chloe and Christian Dior), fitted (Haider Ackermann), or a-line (Louis Vuitton).  This trend is most flattering on taller women because the length does tend to cut off the leg line and make your legs appear shorter, but I recently found a fitted midi-length dress that is actually pretty flattering and I am a mere 5'2'', so I wouldn't count this trend out entirely if you are vertically challenged like me.  Below are some options to choose from if you want to give this trend a try:  A Wear contrast pleated skirt for $79.16 on www.asos.com; ASOS high shine skater skirt for $79.16 on www.asos.com; B. Jones "Style" skirt for $89.99 on www.modcloth.com; Bar III exposed zipper skirt for $54 on www.macys.com; d.RA "Santorini" skirt for $59 on www.piperlime.com; Diane Von Furstenberg "Maribela" skirt for $265 on www.nordstrom.com; Paisley skirt for $19.90 on www.forever21.com; Kensie skirt for $48 on www.nordstrom.com; Pins and Needles full skirt for $49 on www.urbanoutfitters.com; Rachel Zoe "Delphine" skirt for $395 on www.saks.com; Cable knit skirt for $49.50 on www.victoriassecret.com; "Your Attention Pleats" skirt for $42.99 on www.modcloth.com.
