Fall/Winter 2012 Fashion Trend: Burgundy

Burgundy-colored dresses, pants, and blouses were featured prominently on the FW2012 runways (Above: Derek Lam; Elizabeth and James; Gucci; L'Wren Scott.)  This color is great because it looks good on all skin tones and with all hair colors, so if you don't already own something burgundy, you should definitely pick something up to update your wardrobe this season.  Below are some burgundy-colored items for you to consider.

Burgundy is also not just limited to clothing this fall and winter; it is also the hottest lip color.  (Above: Rochas; Gucci.)  While it is pretty easy to pull off a classic fall color like burgundy as an apparel item, it can be a little trickier to pull off such a bold lip color.  The trick is to find the right burgundy shade for your skintone.  Below are some burgundy lipsticks for you to consider:  NARS pure matte lipstick in "Volga" for $25 on www.sephora.com; Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick creme in "Black Cherry" for $9.94 on www.amazon.com; Sephora Rouge Shine lipstick in "Deep Burgundy Gold Metallic" for $12 on www.sephora.com; Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant lipstick in "Deep Plum Burgundy" for $34 on www.sephora.com.
